STRATTON'S MEETING LACKS HOSTILE TONE.(Local)

Hostility about proposed aid to the contras fighting in Nicaragua did not greet U.S. Rep. Samuel Stratton, D-Schendectady, at his town meeting Saturday afternoon as it had last weekend.

"It's a little cooler outside," Stratton told the 50 people in the town library meeting room, "so maybe things will be a little quieter inside."

At town meetings held last weekend in Schenectady and Troy, opponents of the United States sending $100 million to the contras spoke and demonstrated against Stratton's support of President Reagan's aid package.
